Last week, social media and particularly facebook was referenced about self-service advertising but now we are looking at the foundation of difference between SEO and pay per click, and how useful it can be.
SEO or search engine optimisation is the practise of increasing the quality and quantity of traffic to a given website for free via key words. This differs from PPC or pay per click as a business in this instance will place an advertisement on a website for a sum of money when users click on the advertisement.

SEO is considered an organic practise as it is generated without expenses and can appear anywhere on the page – even at the top if your web site is optimised for search engines. 72% of Marketers believe relevant content creation is the best SEO tactic. PPC will appear at the top of the page at a higher cost and this is generated based on the key words within the website as well as how common they are.
The traffic potential is enormous and this is why companies invest time and resources into the advertising process, as SEO traffic has a much higher ceiling due to the assortment of key words, but is a harder process to get the best trafficking. PPC are more beneficial short term as the more clicks and traffic equal more money spent which can be costly but also effective. Both are strategic digital marketing techniques which can have substantial results on a company profit.

Both of the methods are excellent ways to enhance websites and companies such as Car Sales above. PPC brings faster results whislt SEO may take time but results are long lasting and not costly.
Which do you think small business’s should adopt?

Thanks for your insight on PPC, never really understood how it worked but this has certainly cleared things for me, appreciate it.
