Welcome back to my blog all and continuing on a similar theme; is the ease of mobile and online ticketing removing hardcopy tickets from our societies systems?
Based off the comments on my initial post, you thought the newspapers were only a necessity for those old fashioned people and not equipped for the youth.
Are tickets the same?

Crowd-based power and the ability to mobilize and structure ticketing resources online to make it more efficient + easy to crowd sell is the new ‘norm’ in our world. This has made the aspect of digital marketing extremely important to ticket sellers with the purchasing power and reach of the industry. Tickets for sporting games such, as the AFL locally and the Premier League overseas are almost 100% online purchased. IBIS World detail the $297M annual revenue and 2.4% growth of Online ticket sellers, showing you the force of the industry. You can still buy ‘hardcopy’ tickets at the games with the risk of popular games selling out before you get there, but the ease of websites such as Ticketek and Stub hub to buy tickets a week in advance is renound to be the safer option, even at a higher price.

This is not only for sport games, but closer to home with our Monash University event ‘MMSS Corporate Cocktails’ using Eventbrite and recent concert the ‘Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ both recently sold out before hardcopy tickets were even available.
So ask yourselves, have the crowd-based selling methods removed need for hardcopy tickets?

really like how this blog linked to your previous one! I think hard-copy tickets aren’t just for the old fashioned, as some may see it as a keepsake object.

good post! I do feel online ticketing make it much easier and I do feel like in the near future tickets would mostly buy online because other factors such as people are more environmentally friendly.

Great post! It’s definitely much easier having a soft copy but I agree with Demi, some people enjoy the hard copy as a keepsake

As I said to Demi I agree with the having a Keepsake option for a ticket but it’s really not as easy is it.

Hi Sam, I do think that we will see a lot more e-tickets and slowly faze out hard copy tickets. I personally love e-tickets as they are so easy to buy, I don’t have to worry about forgetting my hard copy ticket to an event and it is also environmentally friendly. Great post!
